ASSESSING THE OCCUPATIONAL SKILLS OF ALUMNI IN ACCOUNTING AT UNIVERSITIES IN HANOI

Abstract

The study carried out a survey on the real situation of assessing the
occupational skills of accountants from the perspective of employers who are
alumni of accounting branch at universities in Hanoi. The results of the survey
show that on the provision of occupational skills for accounting staff trained at
this university was not highly appreciated by employers. The main reason is that
the training program does not meet the actual needs of enterprises. Accordingly,
the author proposes some recommendations to develop occupational skills for
accounting students before graduation, gradually narrowing the gap between
training and the needs of society.
