Researching the stress and strain state of SU 122mm cannon when firing using ANSYS software

Abstract

This paper presents calculation results of the temperature, stress and
strain of the SU 122mm cannon when firing a single shot and multiple
shots by using ANSYS Workbench software based on finite element
method. The calculated stress and strain results simultaneously affected
pressure and temperature of gas. The results are used to estimate
strengths and life expectancy of the cannon barrel, as well as to show
behavior of the SU 122mm ‘s barrel when firing.
