Applying reverse engineering technology and CAD/CAM technology in biomechanics

Abstract

Nowadays, with the development of information technology, new materials,
modern of machinery and equipment, reverse engineering is not only widely
applied in the industries but also in the medical field. In that respect, it has
helped us restore and replace the body parts, creating tools that are tailored
to each individual. This article introduces the application of reverse
engineering technology and CAD/CAM technology to restore a patient's
tibiabased on computerized tomography (CT) data. This is a new
technology that has started to be used in countries with developed medicine
to meet the needs of patients, to restore the inherent capabilities of humans
when they are unfortunately lost by accident or illness, contributing to the
success of the surgery and reduces the length of the course of treatment.
