Research on fabrication of wear-resistant Ni/Al2O3 nanocomposite coating by selective electroplating

Abstract

The paper presents our research on fabrication of nickel
nanocomposite coating with Al2O3 nanoparticles using selective
electroplating. The influence to the coating wear resistance of 3
technological plating parameters was investigated including current
density, solution temperature and content of the Al2O3 nanoparticles.
The obtained experimental results showed that the presence of Al2O3
nanoparticles would increase the wear resistance of the traditional
nickel coating more than twice.
