Studying the influence of technological parameters on surface roughness when machining C45 steel on CNC milling machine

Abstract

This paper presents the complete experimental planning in order to
determine the impact of cutting speed (V), feed rate (S) and the depth
of cut (t) to the surface roughness (Rz) when milling C45 steel with
the end mill. Surface roughness (Rz) is measured by the Mitutoyo
Surftest SJ-400 and then analyzed to determine the effect of the input
parameters on the output response. From the relationship between
surface quality and technological parameters, the technologist can
choose the maximum cutting mode of the machine and tools while
still ensure the quality, which can increase productivity, and reduce
the cost product.
