Abstract

This article aims to assess the potential and current status of the tourism industry in the western provinces of the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta) as a basis for proposing solutions to promolte the tourism industry in the region. The qualitative researcher uses a travel affiliate application, collecting data from the tourist statistics receipt software. Research results show that this is a region with diverse ecosystems including rivers, hills and sea-islands suitable for the development of ecological tourism. However, the link between tourism development between provinces in the region and between the Mekong Delta and other regions in the country is limited. This is an issue that needs attention in the tourisim development strategy in the western Mekong Delta.
