  • Trần Thị Thanh Nguyên

Abstract

Mo Yan, a contemporary Chinese writer, who received the Nobel prize in literature in 2012, has been familar to Vietnamese readers with his novels and medium-stories and “Zhu lu” (筑 路)is one of them. “Zhu lu” reflects the society of Chinese countryside in the beginning of setting socialist infracstructure by using mythologized elements. Mo Yan sets “the second reality” in his works conciously and actively by mythical thinking. Recognizing and explaining mythologized elements in Mo Yan’s works seem to be a method to distinguish this writer – a people, a farmer of the land named Cao Mi (China).
