Application of PAC and PFC coagulation to optimize pre-treatment of Luong Quoi River surface water for RO filtration system
Abstract
Saltwater intrusion is severely affecting livelihoods and agriculture. The use of the RSM-CCD method in optimizing the treatment process has been proved to be highly effective in saving time, costs, and enhancing water treatment efficiency, along with preliminary treatment using coagulant materials PAC and PFC. The results show that under pH 11, the treatment efficiency of PAC and PFC reached 93.83% and 87.4%, respectively. The highest filtration efficiency of using PAC was 76.9% at pH 6, and that of using PFC was 71.4% at pH 8.5. These results provide an effective insights for pre-treatment before the RO system, thereby developing a new method to supply clean water, and improving daily life and agricultural activities. This opens up new research directions in the field of desalination and environmental protection.
