Challenges to State Management of Contemporary Vietnamese Villages
Abstract
In Vietnamese history, villages have always played a very important role in the economic, political, spiritual, cultural, and social life of the country. Vietnam is an agricultural country, and villages are the cradle of the country’s evolutionary history. Due to the limitations throughout the country’s history, Vietnamese villages were held back in their transformation and thus that of the country. The author studies the evolution of Vietnamese villages in historical documents to help readers understand the characteristics of villages in accordance with the chronology of the national history. On that basis, the author offers appropriate guidelines and policies to develop the country on the path of integration, industrialisation, and modernisation.
