     Presents 40-year process of foundation and development of the Journal of Information and Documentation; Highlights achieved results and limited aspects of the Journal on the basis of analyzing the following:  the structure of published articles; edition and process of choosing and  approving articles; authors and collaborator staff; Defines coming activity orientation of the Journal.
