Solutions to improve the quality of Information Science students at Can Tho University

Abstract

   The article presents recommendations to improve the quality of training program from 53 managers of national and international libraries and information centres that recruit Information Science students of Can Tho University. By using a mixed methods research (combining surveys sent to 53 recruiters and interviews with 20 managers at institutions), the research has proposed solutions to update the training program as well as recommendations to the Department of Information Science, lecturers and students on how to improve the quality of training program to meet the needs of society. The research results are not only necessary for Can Tho University but also a useful reference for institutions organizing information-library training in Vietnam.
