Abstract

Abelmoschus Sagittifolius(Kurz)Merr.), alias of Bo Chinh ginseng, is a perennial suffrutex sharp herb, first found in Chau Bo Chinh (a district of Quang Binh provicen nowaday) with rhizome used as medicine. Now, Bo Ching ginseng has been introduce to trade in the nationwide market with the variety of nutrition products with significant efects. It can be used to stimulate and awake the brain, nourish and build up strength, and probably to treat neurasthenia, dizziness, the pain in waist and lower extremities, the stomach ache, the diarrhea and so on. Under the basis the effect evaluation of this medicinal plant, the study used the Kjeldahl method and the Bradford method to determine the protein content in the Main Ginseng. The results showed that the protein content Total up to 9.16%, soluble protein content is 2.442%, much higher compared to the other conventional foods.
