PROBLEMS OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY IN HOANG VIET LAW

Abstract

Hoang Viet law (also known as Gia Long law) is one of the most remarkable developments in Vietnamese legislation history. This is considered as a  significant contribution of Emperor Gia Long in building the law system to regulate complex social relations in the social context at that time. In Hoang Viet law, issues of marriage and family were fairly detailed.  Apart from some limitations, the problems of marriage and family reflects  a positive and progressive aspect of this law.
