Abstract

Needs analysis sets up an essential step in application to communicative language teaching. This article describes an investigation into needs analysis of the learning English of non-English majors at Quang Binh University. The results indicate that there exist the unequal ability and various wants in learning English among student groups. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the syllabi suitable to each learner group and to implement some solutions aiming at assessing the output language standard for them and orienting teaching and learning activities so as to ensure that. This will have a part in the  upgrading of the non-major English training quality at Quang Binh University.
