SYNTHESIS OF QUINOLINE - BASED NNO-TYPE PINCER LIGANDS AND STUDY ON STRUCTURE OF COMPLEXES Ni(II) WITH THEM

Abstract

Two new quinoline-based ON'N pincer ligands: 5-bromo-8-methoxy-2-diethyl aminomethylquinoline (L1) and 5-bromo-8-methoxy -2-isopropyl-amine methylquinoline (L2) were prepared through cyclization, bromination and amine substitution from 2-methoxyaniline. Two new complexes of (L1)NiCl₂ (P1) and (L2)NiCl₂(CH₃OH) (P2) were synthesized from NiCl₂ with L1 and L2 and fully characterized by IR, NMR, single crystal X-ray diffraction respectively.
