SELECTIVE EPOXIDATION OF PROPYLENEOXIDE BY USING TITANIUM SILICALITE-1 (TS-1) PHOTOCATALYST
Abstract
In recent years, there has been great research focus on epoxide propylene to achieve propylene oxide (PO) - the second most important of intermediate chemical product. However, in most case, they face the disposal, separation, and economic problems. In addition, the propylene conversion and the selectivity to PO are still very low. Thus, this research explored the photo selective catalytic epoxidation of propylene via molecular oxygen. The key is using photo-energy to achieve direc gas-phase epoxidation products at room temperature over a series photocatalysts. The most favorable epoxide photocatalyst, with 24.1µmol.g-cat−1.h−1 PO yield rate and 44.7% PO selectivity, were obtained on stream, was on TS-1 photocatalysts under the 6,000h−1, 0.15mW/cm2 UVA.
