CORROSION INHIBITION EFFECT OF WATER EXTRACT FROM ROSE MYRTLE (RHODOMYRTUS TOMENTOSA) ON CT3 MILD STEEL IN SULFURIC ACID 0.5M
Abstract
The rose myrtle (Rhodomytus tomentosa) leaves have been proved to have largecontent of polyphenol including quinic acid, gallic acid, caffeic acid, flavonoits andglycosides, which are helpful for using as corrosion inhibitor of steel. All of theexperiment results are collected using electrochemical linear polarization techniqueto clarify the corrosion potential as well as to predict the corrosion rate of CT3 steelsample in acid medium with the present of rose myrtle water extract, as a corrosioninhibitor, in different concentrations.
