PREPARATION AND PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF METHYLENE BLUE OF ANATASE/RUTILE MIXED - PHASE TiO2 NANOPARTICLES
Abstract
Nanostructured TiO2 particles were synthesized by hydrolysis of Titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTiP): Ti[OCH(CH3)2]4 in aqueous solution at pH = 2 and pH = 4, annealed at 400, 600, 800 oC. The structure of TiO2 nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The as-prepared TiO2 nanoparticles present anatase - rutile phases and show good photocatalytic performance in the degradation of methylene blue under UV irradiation.
