INVESTIGATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL RADIOACTIVITY IN THE COASTAL ZONE OF PHU YEN PROVINCE

Abstract

    The investigation of environmental radioactivity in the coastal zone of Phu Yenprovince has been carried out for the period of 2013-2015.The gamma dose at 1 meter distance above the ground and the radioactivity ofradioisotopes such as 238U, 232Th, 226Ra, 40K and 137Cs at 493 sites were determined.The results obtained from the investigation shown that there are 40 sites, at which thesafety radioactivity index I1 is greater than unit, and of which the external hazardindex Hex is greater than unit at 11 sites.
