SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIAL THE COMPLEXES OF EUROPIUM(III) AND TERBIUM(III) WITH MIXTURE LIGAND L-PHENYLALANINE AND O-PHENANTHROLINE

Abstract

    The complexes Ln(Phe)3PhenCl3.3H2O (Phe: L-phenylalanine; Phen: ophenanthroline;Ln: Eu,Tb) have been synthesized and characterized by theelecmental anlysic, IR spectra, themal analysic and fluorescence spectra methods. IRspectra indicated that the rare earth ions are coordinated by both the oxygen atomfrom the COO- group and the nitrogen atom from the NH3+ group from Lphenylalanineand the nitrogen atom o-phenanthroline. The complexs were alsocompared in terms of fluorescent properties.
