SYNTHESIS AND SPECTRAL STUDIES ON COMPLEXES OF Zn(II) WITH 2 - ACETYLPYRIDINE N(4) - PHENYLTHIOSEMICARBAZONE
Abstract
2 - acetylpyridine N(4) - phenylthiosemicarbazone (Hpthapyr) has been synthesized.Hpthapyr reacts with zinc(II) in aqueous solution at pH 9.0 - 10.0 in molar proportionof zinc(II): Hpthacpyr at 1 : 2 and at room temperature to form a yellow complex. Theligand and its complex have also been characterized by methods of spectra: IR, 1H,13C - NMR. The obtained results showed that: ligand exists in the thion, the anion ofpthapyr- coordinates to the central ion zinc(II) through the azomethine N thiolato, Satoms and Npyridine.
