Abstract

Styrene - deproteinized natural rubber (DPNR) grafting copolymerization using emulsionpolymerization with tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) - tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHPO) as aredox initiator was successful. Study on hardness and oil resistance of grafted styrenedeproteinized natural rubber, we found that hardness and oil resistance of rubber increasedepending on monomer concentration. With monomer concentration is 23.4 g/100g rubber, itsoil resistance increases 30%; and with 24.3g monomer/ 100g rubber, its hardness increases70% comparison with DPNR.
