Abstract
Rice husk charcoal produced by the multi-zone pyrolysis eqipment has the carbon content of 47.14% . The char was used to adsorb some pollutants in wastewater. The results obtained in this study indicated that the rice husk charcoal could remove 81.5% of colourants and 49% of COD from textile wastewater. It could also remove 40.5% of oils and grease from domestic wastewater. These results susgested an other alternative for the studying and finding of cost effective materials applied in environmental pollution treatment.
