INVESTIGATION ON THE PROCESS OF SYNTHESIS ORGANOCLAYS FROM BENTONITE (CHINA) AND TETRADECYLTRIMETHYL AMMONIUM BROMIDE

Abstract
Synthesize organoclay by wet method and study the influence of reactive conditions in the preparation of organoclay from bentonite (China) and tetradecyltrimetyl ammonium bromide (TTAB) on the distance of the organoclay layers (d001) and the level of intrusion TTAB into bentonite has been studied. By X-ray diffraction method, the direct method calcined sample was determined suitable conditions for preparing organoclays from bentonite (China) and TTAB were: reaction temperature of 500C, the volume ratio TTAB/bentonite 0.5, pH = 9.0 solution, reaction time 4 h, the product was dried for 48 hours at 80oC.
