Abstract
This paper focus on the adsorption of Fe(III), Cr(VI) in aqueous solution on modified laterite materials. One material was modified by Fe3+, SiO32-, PO43- solution and additional cerium (M1). The other material was modified by Fe3+, SiO32- solution with apatite ore additional cerium (M3). Some physicochemistry properties of the materials have been determined by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and BET (Brunaure-Emmet-Teller) method. The experiments were conducted using the following parameters: quilibrium time is 90 minutes for Fe(III), 120 minutes for Cr(VI); material size is 0,05÷0.2mm; adsorbent mass is 0.2g; pH is 2.5 for Fe(III), 2.0 for Cr(VI). Adsorption capacity for each metal was found as 76.92mg/g (Fe), 18.52mg/g (Cr) for M1; 39.53mg/g (Fe) and 17.85mg/g (Cr) for M3 at 250C, respectively. Adsorption capacity of Fe(III) and Cr(VI) on M1 is better than M3.
