STUDY ON COMPETITIVE ADSORPTION BETWEEN Cd2+ AND Pb2+ IN SPINACH (Spinacia oleracea L.)

Abstract

   Polluted water can often contain more than one heavy metal. It is possible that the behavior of a particular metal species from water to plant will be affected by the presence of other metals. In this study, we have investigated the uptake of Cd2+ and Pb2+ on spinach using irrigation water contaminated by two these metals. The research results showed that the presence of Cd2+ inhibited the adsorption of Pb2+ to plants.
