CONSTRUCTION OF INDICATORS FOR ASSESSING THE CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTIVE CAPACITY IN DA NANG

Abstract

Climate change and sea level rise have caused huge losses in life, property and habitat. The impacts of climate change and sea level rise are seriously threatening people’s livelihoods. The assessment of the ability to adapt to climate change (adaptive capacity) is very necessary, in which the development of the adaptability indicator is very important as the basis for calculating adaptive capacity of climate change and recommend suitable adaptive solutions. Indicators of climate change adaptive capacity are built on the basic of inheriting the research at home and abroad, combined with consultations with experts to create the index should reliable, high applicability. This study aims to establish indicator to assess the ability to adapt to climate change for Da Nang city. The article have built 5 elements: finance, infrastructure, human, society, natural and 17 indicators.
