APPLICATION OF REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGY AND GIS STUDYING THE CHANGES IN TREE AREA IN INNER HANOI FOR THE PERIOD 2013 – 2016

Abstract

This paper utilizes Landsat 8 satellite images, NDVI calculations combined with multivariate regression analysis to study the variation of green areas in inner Ha Noi for the period of 2013 - 2016. The results show that the green area in the period is stable and increased slightly (approximately 0.8%). The average green coverage in the study area from 2013 to 2016 was relatively high (about 51%). Despite the increased green area cover, the per capita density of perennials in the study area declined by approximately 4.4%. Two major causes for the decline are the urbanization of the peri-urban districts and population growth in the study area.
