AGRICULTURAL LIVELIHOODS ADAPTATION TO CLIMATE CHANGE: A CASE STUDY IN CAN LOC, HA TINH PROVINCE

Abstract

Agricultural livelihoods of people in Can Loc district are being affected by climate change, especially due to the increase in temperature, rainfall and extreme weather events, such as floods, storms and droughts.. The study synthesized the ongoing agricultural livelihood activities in Can Loc and together with local authorities and people analyzed, selected the sustainable livelihood models to adapt to climate change. In which three models have been evaluated as suitable for local conditions and adaptation to climate change: i) pig raising model on biological padding; ii) farmer group model for rice seed adaptation to climate change, and iii) rice - fish - duck model.
