IMPACT OF URBANIZATION ON LOCAL CLIMATE IN HA NOI CITY

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of urbanization on local climate of Ha Noi city. The changes in temperature and rainfall patterns are studied to detect urbanization effects. The results show that urbanization contributes to the increase of annual rainfall and temperature in urban area. The qualitative and quantitative analyses are involved to expose urbanization effects on local climate characteristics. In this present study, we consider temperature and rainfall changes at four meteorological stations located in urban, sub-urban and rural areas. The various changes of temperature and rainfall petterns obtained from these stations demonstrate the urbanization effects on rainfall and temperature in lthe research area.
