WATER SECURITY AND CHALLENGES TO WATER SECURITY IN VIET NAM

Abstract

Water depletion and scarcity not only threaten human health and production capacity but also causes conflicts and wars. In the context of climate change, water is becoming a security problem in Viet Nam. This paper reviews water security problems in the world and in Viet Nam as well as challgenges caused by climate change to water security.. Results show that Viet Nam is facing many different water insecurity issues at present. The lack of systematic studies on water security in Vietnam was concluded, leaving research gaps. Conducting more research on water security issue was recommended to identify detailed water problems in the future.
