ASSESSING THE APPLICABILITY OF THE HF MOBILE RADAR SYSTEM IN MONITORING WAVES AND SURFACE FLOWS

Abstract

The study presents the analyzed results of surface waves and surface flows data in coastal area of Phu Yen province based on measurement of mobile High Frequecy radar (HFR) system for 01 month from 23rd April 2019 until 23rd May 23 2019. Data collected from mobile HFR systems are further collected and compared with data from AWAC and global re-analysis data. The results show that data measured by mobile HFR system observed the same trend with other data sources and the weather phenomenons in the study area. This study also points out some cases that could create system’s data noise and its causes.
