ACTIVITIES OF TROPICAL CYCLONES IN NORTH-WESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN, EAST SEA THAT MADE LANDFALL INTO VIET NAMESE COASTLINE IN 2018

Abstract

Typhoons and tropical depressions, commonly referred to tropical cyclones, are usually active from May to December in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean area and from June to November in the Viet Nam’s East Sea. With the purpose of providing information on the 2018 tropical cyclone season, this article summarizes all of the activities of tropical cyclones in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean, Viet Nam’s East Sea that made landfall Viet Nam’s coastline. Simultaneously, the tropical cyclones characteristics, intensity and its consequences of strong winds and downpours in 2018 are also evaluated.
