ASSESSMENT OF CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT ON WATER RESOURCES IN KON PLONG BASIN BY USING MIKE NAM MODEL

Abstract

Study applies a modified MIKE NAM model to select the optimal set of parameters to evaluate the change of water resources in Kon Plong basin. The results show that, under the RCP8.5 scenario, the total annual discharge volume of 2016-2035 period increased by 13,0%, 2046-2065 period increased by 19,4% and 2080-2099 period increased by 25.0%. Under the RCP4.5 scenario, there is a slight increase: from 2016 to 2035, the total annual discharge volume increased 10.8%; from 2046 to 2064 increased 17.3% and in 2080-2099 period, it increased 22%. This study’s results can be considered as an important scientific basis for water resources forecasting and planning in the future.
