Abstract

Using water quality monitoring data of Nhue and Day rivers in 2010-2014, the study has determined the influence of water temperature on total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP). Results showed that temperature and TN in Nhue and Day rivers are inversely correlated, i.e.: TN value is low in high water temperature and vice versa. The relationship between TP parameters inand temperature is not so apparent.

The study results also showed that the TN/TP ratio in Nhue and Day rivers tends to be higher when the water temperature is low and vice versa. Most of the N/P ratio in river water is higher than 6, showing that phosphorus is the limiting factor of algae growth in the river.
