Abstract

The study used the DNDC (Denitrification - Decomposition) model to calculate the amount of CH4 and N2O generated from rice cultivation activities of people in Thinh Long town, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province. The DNDC model was calibrated with actual field measurements and gave high reliability. When using the DNDC model to calculate GHG emissions in wet rice farming in Thinh Long town, the research obtained the following results: (1) The CH4 and N2O emissions over the years in urban areas of Thinh Long town has a difference. Specifically, the amount of emissions increased gradually during the period of 2015 - 2017. (2) The amount of CH4 emissions in 2017 in Thinh Long town was 781 kg/ha/crop for the summer crop and it was 534 kg/ha/crop for the spring crop. (3) The amount of N2O emissions in 2017 in Thinh Long town was 1 kg/ha/crop for summer crop and was 0.8 kg/ha/crop for the spring crop.
