Abstract

Abstract: Pedagogical competencies play an essential role in the quality of the teacher's professional activities. Pedagogical competences need to be frequently fostered to meet the increasing requests and changes in the society and the educational system. To organise training courses effectively to improve pedagogical competences of Junior High School (JHS) teachers, it is necessary to understand the status of their pedagogical competences. This paper presents the findings of the status of pedagogical competences of JHS teachers in District No. 11, Ho Chi Minh City. The results showed that pedagogical competences of JHS teachers of District No. 11 in Ho Chi Minh City were limited and unable to meet the requirements of educational renovation and the current situation. Based on the results of this research, this paper proposed some suggestions to improve the efficiency of activities to foster pedagogical competences of JHS teachers at District No. 11 in Ho Chi Minh City.
