Designing exercises for evaluation of students problem solving competency in statistics

Abstract

Abstract: Statistics is a science that is increasingly used in many areas of human activity. Problem solving competence is one of the core components helps shape and develop Mathematics competency for students. This paper proposes an assessment rubric for problem solving competency in Statistics. Based on this rubric, we assessed the levels of applying statistical knowledge to solve problems with real context of grade 10 students, and make suggestions for teaching and evaluation of teachers to improve students' solving problems ability.
