Household income diversification in the South Central Coast

Abstract

    Over past decade, the South Central Coast of Vietnam achieved relatively high economicgrowth, improving significantly regional per capita income, reducing poverty rate. However.the region ranks just below the national average; most people still live in rural areas and participatein the primary sector The study analyzes characteristics of household income diversificationin the South Central Coast. In addition, this study investigates determinants ofincome diversification as well as household income in the South Central Coast by using theTobit model and two stage least squares (2SLS) estimations. Finally, some policy recommendationsare provided to enhance household income in the region.
