Infrastructure plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of a country. This paper analyzesand assesses the achievements and limitations regarding infrastructure development in Vietnamin recent years. The findings show that besides the achievements, the development of infrastructurein Vietnam reveals fundamental weaknesses The weaknesses of the existing infrastructureare considered as "bottleneck" to socio-economic development in Vietnam. The paper alsoprovides recommendations to promote the infrastructure development towards sustainable developmentin Vietnam in the coming time.
