Abstract
This study exploits survey data of 500 households having members contract chronic diseasethat are under resident treatment in hospitals in Ho Chi Minh city to identify determinanis ofloan demand ofthe households in coverage of treatment cost The findings indicate that householder'sage, householder's education, household's monthly income, household's asset, andrelative's supports are determinants that have negative impact on the loan demand. While thenumber of treatment days at hospital, and the number of household members are determinantsthat have positive impact on loan demand.
