The relationship between financial inclusion and gender equality: research trends and review of literature in the world

Abstract

Financial inclusion and gender equality are two issues that have received a lot of attention from
many experts and scholars in recent years. The relationship between these two factors is also a relatively
new research topic and is being explored by many researchers. Using statistical data and document review
methodology, the paper provides scientific evidence about the overall picture of the current state of research
trends in the world on the relationship between financial inclusion and gender equality. In particular, the
results show that the number of studies on financial inclusion and gender equality, although still limited, has
tended to increase in recent years. Moreover, research around the world on this topic reflects that gender
equality is an issue that needs attention in the development of financial inclusion and that financial inclusion
has a significant impact on improving gender equality. However, these studies still have some limitations in
approach and research scope, requiring further research directions to be proposed to develop this topic in
the future
