The efficiency in raising capital between the commercial bank groups in Khanh Hoa province

Abstract

This study focuses on analysing the deposit situation of state-owned commercial banks (SOCBs) and joint-stock commercial banks (JSCBs) in Khanh Hoa province during 2009-2014. By analyzing and comparing size, growth rate, effective at raising capital of the two groups, author shows that, SOBCs in Khanh Hoa province outperform JSCBs in term of gaining market share and efficiency for years. However, currently, JSCBs faces intensely competitive pressure and the considerable rise of JSCBs. The evaluation results will provide bank executives more informations to determine bank’s position and ability to attract deposits compared to the whole system, from there setting appropriate business strategy to achieve an efficient, stable and safe business in the increasingly competitive environment.
