Recommendations about increasing capital of commercial banks in Vietnam

Abstract

Compared with other countries in the region, the sizes of commercial banks in Vietnam are now generally modest. In order to improve the position and competitiveness, capital increase is a concern for banks in Vietnam. Beside that, it is also one of the solutions to reach the goal of having at least 1-2 commercial banks ranked among top 100 largest banks (by total assets) in Asia by the end of 2025. This paper analyzes the current increasing capital of commercial banks in Vietnam and has recommendations. Research methods are analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparing… Study period is 2019-2021.
