Promoting cooperation between universities and enterprises in scientific research at Banking Academy of Vietnam

Abstract

The cooperation between higher education institutions (universities) and enterprises has become a crucial part of the national strategy to foster efficiency of and innovation in the science and education system in developing countries (Perkmann & Walsh, 2007). The strengthening of such a cooperation helps create sustainable economic alliances, establish highly competitive economic sectors and promote entrepreneurship in society, thereby contributing positively to socio-economic development. However, in reality, it is not always the case that cooperation between enterprises and universities appears effective and enduring. Derived from theoretical justification, synthesis of international experiences and analysis of the real situation of university - enterprise cooperation at Banking Academy of Vietnam in scientific research, the present paper puts forward solutions and recommendations to promote such a cooperation, improve operational efficiency of the university towards long-term values for all participating parties.
