Assessing the status and proposing the repair solutions of the monitoring system of concrete face rockfill dam Cua Dat - Thanh Hoa

Abstract

Cua Dat Reservoir is a nationally important structure which was started construction in 2005 and completed in 2010 on the Chu River. The main dam preventing the Chu river is a Rockfill Dam with the upstream-roof face of reinforced concrete (CFRD). Because this is a kind of Concrete Face Rockfill
Dam, so the monitoring of subsidence of the dam, the fluctuations on the surfaced dam and the permeability through the main body of the dam are strictly implemented. Depending on the structure, each location of the hydraulic structures, the design consultant (DS) will suggest monitoring equipments
to measure deformations, gaps, water pressure, temperature measurement, bottom pressure gauge, stress measurement, depth subsidence measurement... Therefore, after 10 years of operation, the assessment of the status of the monitoring system is absolutely necessary to give the maintenance and
repair solutions or replacement of the damaged equipment; and upgrade the monitoring system to ensure the safe operation and exploitation of the structure
