Quality evaluation of satellite precipitation product GSMAP on heavy rainfall simulation – appication for the Ma river basin

Abstract

    Number of study on spatial precipitation datasets applications such as precipitation product ofradar, satellite ... are increasing in order to provide more information in un-gauge areas. Thisstudy focuses on analysis of GSMaP (Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation) productscomparing with observed precipitation from 45 rain-gauges in the Ma river basin in 2017 and2018. The results show that the GSMaP products can be able to simulate very well of both temporaland spatial patterns of precipitation. GSMaP_MKV is the best one, GSMaP_NOW is the worst oneamong the three GSMaP products in terms of average precipitation amounts.
