Abstract

In this paper, the 1D hydrodynamic model MIKE 11 including the hydraulic module and the ecoenvironmentalmodule were applied to simulate the water quality change in the Duong River withinthe current period and future period based on different scenarios. The authors used a set ofdatabase including topography, hydrology, and hydraulics, as well as water quality data, whichobserved in the year 2013 and 2014, as inputs for the processes of the modeling. A set of optimalmodel parameters was obtained in order to simulate the future water quality of the Duong Riverusing different scenarios of inflow and wastewater release. The results of Dissolved Oxygen andBiochemical Oxygen Demand obtained from these models were used to make a comparison with theNational Standard of Surface Water Quality (QCVN 08:2008). In general, the water quality of somelocations in the River is in the range of the National Standard. However, some other locations areout of the A2 level but under the B1 level.
