Volunteer tourism - a sustainable development direction for tourism in the Midland and northern mountainous Vietnam

Abstract
Vonlunteer tourism is a form of tourism that aims to develop sustainability, and bring long – term benefits to local communities. This study analyzes the basic theoretical issues of voluntary tourism: characteristics, conditions of voluntary tourism development, and characteristics of voluntary tourism. On that basis, analyzing the needs of the type of volunteer tourism, the ability to develop and bring benefits to the local community in the mountainous provinces of Vietnam. The main research methods used are: general assessment methods, sociological surveys making comments on the needs and capacity of voluntary tourism development. This study analyzes the conditions for voluntary tourism, proposing some solutions to exploit types of voluntary tourism in the mountainous provinces of Vietnam
