Abstract

    Compensation and benefit package for military mandarins is one of the importantpolicies in building and consolidating the army under Nguyen dynasty. Militarymandarins under Nguyen dynasty did not only receive salary and bonus as mandarins inthe dynasty, but also enjoyed special privileges of the state, due to the job's particularcharacteristics such as the regime for the dead, wounded people in the battlefield. Thesepolicies reflected not only the income of military mandarins, but also partly reflected theeconomic and political situation of the Nguyen dynasty.
